Primers are one of the most controversial make-up products within the world of beauty..There are many people who absolutely love them, and incorporate them into their make-up routine every single day because they believe that they really do make a difference to their overall make-up..Yet on the other hand, there are plenty of other people who actually do not believe in primers at all, they do not see the difference that they can potentially make, and they think that they are just another, gimmicky product that does not work but still encourages us to spend money..Question is, which of these opinions is really true? ..Thats just it, because they are opinions, neither is technically right or wrong, but it certainly makes for a great debate! In all honesty, for me I definitely understand both sides of the dispute..As a make-up enthusiast I have tried out a lot of priming products over the years, and whilst I have come across some incredible primers that I notice really do work wonders and they definitely do make a difference to the appearance of my skin and my make-up, I have also tried my fair share of not so good primers, that do not seem to offer any kind of benefits to my make-up or my skin whatsoever. To see if a primer can actually work for you, the best thing to do is to experiment with as many different ones as you possibly can, and I am sure that eventually you will discover one that works perfectly for you and your skin. All it takes is one primer, and when you find it, I can almost guarantee that any doubtful thoughts you once had about primers, will soon be converted!
In my humble opinion, if you do not own at least one amazing primer in your collection, then I believe that you really are missing out on the secret to a flawless, and long-wearing base. With benefits such as minimising fine lines and wrinkles, reducing the look of pores, smoothing the appearance of the skin, improving make-up longevity, evening out skin tone, and protecting the skin, a good primer can honestly be a magical product..A true game changer! There are SO many primers that are available nowadays, and many of them are actually designed to target specific problem areas on the skin which you want to conceal..Whether you want to blur imperfections, mattify, smooth, increase staying-power, or anything else, I am sure that there is a primer out there for it..You just need to do your research! Personally, I gravitate towards pore-reducing primers, which smooth out my skin and keep my make-up in place all day long. With lots of trials and errors along the way, I have found so many primers that actually work well for me, and they have turned me into a firm believer of priming! It is now one particular step in my make-up routine which I never skip, as I truly can tell the difference between when I use one, and when I don’t.
Even though I have now accumulated quite a vast collection of primers which I completely love and use on a daily basis, I am still continuously on the look out for new ones to try. The latest addition to make it into my primer collection is the highly coveted, Marc Jacobs Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer. After hearing SO many incredible reviews about this primer, I just had to pick it up for myself when I got the chance to, and truth be told, this is what I have been using pretty much every single day now since I purchased it. Marc Jacobs is one of my all time favourite, luxurious beauty brands..None of their products have ever disappointed me in the past, and this one is certainly no exception. I am so glad that I listened to all of the recommendations and I discovered this primer..It is a strong contender for becoming a firm favourite of mine!
The newly released Under(Cover) Face Primer from Marc Jacobs Beauty prepares and protects the skin ready for make-up application, and it sits beautifully under any foundation.
It is a nutrient-rich primer which specifically works for skin smoothing and make-up extending purposes, meaning it helps to keep make-up wearing longer throughout the day, and it also leaves the skin surface looking improved and appearing better than ever!
What makes this primer exquisitely innovative compared to any other, is the fact that it is actually enriched with a variety of five forms of concentrated coconut extracts, which create a natural protective barrier between the skin and the make-up, whilst also providing nourishment and hydration to the complexion. This infusion was inspired by Marc Jacob’s love of coconut water, and I have to say, it is pretty genius! The five most essential coconut ingredients that this primer comprises of, to help prime and smooth the skin are ||
Coconut Fruit || Features skin-boosting vitamins and antioxidants
Coconut Water || Features nutrients for hydration and smoothing
Coconut Milk || Helps prime and smooth the complexion, and blur imperfections
Coconut Polysaccharides || Help prime the complexion
Coconut Extract || Provides a natural coconut fragrance
These five components combined together really brings the refreshing feel of coconut to the face, which is perfect for awakening the skin and making it appear much more radiant. As the primer has a coconut infusion, it is unsurprising that is also has a coconut scent to it as well..However, it is very subtle and nothing too overwhelming.
The consistency of this primer is very lightweight, very thin, and a little product goes a very long way..Just one small pump is enough to prime the entire face, leaving you with the perfect blank canvas, to start applying make-up on top of. Once the primer has been applied and completely massaged into the skin, it is immediately noticeable that everything looks much smoother and totally revived. The skin will appear to look more naturally dewy, not to the extent where it looks oily, but it just attains a lovely, healthy looking glow. Something that I love most about this Marc Jacobs primer is that it does not feel at all heavy on the skin like a silicone based priming product would, instead it feels extremely soft and hydrating, almost like applying a moisturiser. Because of it’s hydrating formula, I find that foundations glide onto the skin effortlessly over the top and also blend out like a dream too, which in turn makes the whole make-up application process a breeze!
Overall, I am beyond impressed with the Marc Jacobs Under(Cover) Primer. It works perfectly for me and my skin type, and it really does benefit the appearance of both my make-up and my skin. With its lightweight consistency and its coconut scent, it makes for the perfect primer for Summer, and I am definitely going to continue using this on a daily basis.
Primers have the ability to do for your skin what lingerie does for your figure..They smooth, flatter, conceal and hold things in place, so that everything you put on top of them looks immediately better..You just need to take the time to try out different ones to see what suits you best! If you have normal-to-dry skin, and you are after a primer that is going to hydrate your skin and also keep your make-up looking flawless all day long, then I would one hundred percent recommend the Marc Jacobs Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer
to you..I am positive that you will not be left feeling disappointed with it!
